I called about a month ago inquiring about the IMTS Digital track, there were 7 on the register and 20 something including me that have conditional offers.

They have up to 75 per class, it appears that they only select 1 IMTS per class, but that can change, they could select many in one class.

You would thnk they would need additional IMTS's to support the expansion of the OMS and IMS staff and to replace the retiring baby boomers.

Since you already have your clearance you should not have to worry.  It is possible to fall of the list, but does it really happen…

Once you are a cleared candidate I believe there is a program in which you go into a different career track. 

Did you have veterans points or any language points?

Well, in january when I call i was nubmer 4 on the list. I was told they were taking 2? in March and 1 or 2 in April. I was very happy to hear it because they also have orientation in August and September which they were taking 2 or 3 each. I can't tell you the clouds I've been walking on since then, but i just called back this week and was told that I am now number on a list of 11 and that they only know of 1 they were taking for IMTS on Auguest…havn't seen those clouds since…My 18 motnhs comes up in Febuary 2011 I think and I don't know what to do after that? Do just re-apply? they just spent 60-90k on doing my TS? I've been thinking about posting and asking Peter if he knows if/when one does not get in the first time?  what to do? Do you get on a prioirty list? anyway, things may change. If they have 75 seats I don't know how/why they will only take so few IMTS positions?

Don't worry about the TS though. I just had someone from Frankfurt come over and talk to me. They never sent me a letter telling me I passed it, but they sent the letter telling me I was on the list (last Sep 09).

Good Luck by the way – i know were looking for some of the same slots but somehow after talking to some other people who are trying to get in we start to fell like we're togather in journey.

Thanks for your help.

I just wanted to let you know what happened. I email and well, nothing. No one answed. But I dicided that I would call. I'm sure they are busy and was worried about getting on their bad side, but I left a msh. for Ms. Featherstone in HR who was one of the people in the leter they sent me telling me I was on the waiting list.

A little bit after a left the msg she called me back. The second nicest person I have ever met, I have to tell you. She let me know where I stood and let me know that there were classes this March, May, Aug., and Sept. They seem to only be taking one applicant per class so with any luck I may be in this fall. She said that they were starting to send out employment invitations now.

Thanks for this site Peter. There is nothing out there for US State Department applicants and I have to tell you that talking to Ms. Featherstone after six months of hearing nothing settled some nerves. I was starting to think I had imaged all of it…
