Me!

Me!

Born and raised in rural New Hampshire, I joined the U.S. Air Force straight out of High School and immediately took an assignment overseas.  After 24 years, I gave it up, retired from the Air Force  and decided to settle down in New Mexico. However, it was not long before I longed to go back overseas.  Not as a tourist, but to actually live there again.  That semi-nomadic lifestyle I had become accustomed to all during my adult life in the military was so ingrained in my personality and psyche that I felt out-of-place when I attempted to settle down.  I realized that I thrived on an ever changing environment, new cultures, new foods, new money, and new languages.  Taking routine tourist vacations would never cut it, I would never be happy sitting still again.

Fortunately, my wife Megan stumbled upon the U.S Foreign Service, and we’ve been on the road ever since.   Megan joined as a Foreign Service Specialist in the Office Management field, and I accompanied her to Vienna Austria, Warsaw, Poland, and Pretoria South Africa.  In 2007, I joined the Foreign Service myself and after a year in Islamabad (my choice!) I grabbed a wonderful assignment in Singapore.

I enjoy anything that makes me feel alive!  My favorite pastimes (besides traveling) are skydiving, downhill skiing, SCUBA diving, caving, hiking, camping, photography, astronomy and astrophotography.

Enjoy!
